How to convert video and transfer it to iPhone



The iPhone is a multimedia smartphone designed by Apple Inc; announced on January 9, 2007. Though lacking of a physical keyboard, iPhone has lots of functions, from universal text messaging, email, to visual voicemail, web browsing, Wi-Fi connectivity, etc, which can be operated via its virtual keyboard. And most important, it's a portable media player. It supports music, audiobook, podcast, application and video. Fun is always with you if an iPhone is in your hands.



So, most iPhone users like to watch movies on this beautiful handset. However, according to iPhone's official page, there are many technical specifications as follows for iPhone video file:

Video Format: MP4, MOV, M4V
Video Size: up to 640x480
Video Framerate: up to 30fps
Video Bitrate: up to 1.5Mbps for H.264, or 2.5Mbps for MPEG-4
Audio: AAC up to 160Kbps, 48kHz

For this reason , if you have an iPhone and want to play movies on it, you need to convert the video first. Follow below steps to get iPhone playable videos. (If you're using a Mac, please check this Mac tutorial)



Step 1 : need a converter

To convert video for iPhone, you need a video converter. Download and install Any Video Converter.



Step 2 : select iPhone video format

Launch converter and in the program, select Apple iPhone/iPod Touch MPEG-4 Movie from Profile drop down list.
Select video format for iPhone



Step 3 : convert video

Press Add Video button to add video in the program and press Encode button to convert:
Add video to be converted for iPhone encode video for iPhone
Or just drag and drop the video from hard disk to program.
Add video to converter



Step 4 : find output file

Once encoding is finished, go to left panel, click on the Apple iPhone label. And in the middle window, right click on the converted file and select Open File Location, then you can check this video in the output folder from the hard drive.



Step 5 : import video into iTunes

Launch iTunes, go to menu File > Add File to Library to import target movie from output folder into iTunes; or just drag and drop the movie into iTunes.



Step 6 : transfer video to iPhone

There are many ways to transfer converted video to iPhone through iTunes after it's connected with your computer via USB cable.
1) Press the Sync button under Summary tab. This will sync the videos as well as other items like music, TV shows, podcasts, audiobook, photos and applications;
2) Under Movies tab, select Sync movies > All movies, and press Sync button;
3) Under Movies tab, select Sync movies > Selected movies, choose the video in the pane, and press Sync button.

After a while, the sync will be complete. Now, check your iPhone:

How to convert video and transfer it to iPod Touch



The iPod Touch is a portable media player and Wi-Fi mobile device designed by Apple Inc; announced on September 5, 2007. It adds the Multi-Touch graphical user interface to the iPod line and is available with 8, 16, or 32 GB of flash memory. It includes Apple's Safari web browser and is the first iPod with wireless access to the iTunes Store. With a software update, which is sold by Apple, it also has access to Apple's App Store. In a word, it supports music, audiobook, podcast, application and video. So, most iPod Touch users like to play music and watch movies on this beautiful handset. However, according to iPod Touch's official page, there are many technical specifications as follows for iPod Touch video file:

I downloaded Cucusoft iPod Movie/Video Converter, it's very easy to use, can convert from many video formats and is very fast (depends on your system, of course ). You can find a useful tutorial on how to convert movie to ipod format at mymusictools.com
