Default Transfering 8 GB File (.cdr) - 04-18-2009, 07:45 PM

Hello Ladies and Gents,

Here's the senario. I've created a back-up file using Disk Utility of a movie that I created. The file itself is about 8 GB. I can't seem to figure out how to send the file to my younger brother to add some more effects to the file.

Originally, we thought that if I took the file, created a .cdr file, we could simply set up a file transfer and that would work. The problem we're facing is the time and bandwidth. It's taking over 20 hours to transfer the file at a very slow rate.

As a last ditch resort, we thought, Windows Live Sync would work...but that didn't work either. Is there a way we can split the file into segments and have him reconstruct it on his computer? Or is there a way in which would be available to us to speed the transfer beyond 100kb/s?

Any suggestions would be lovely, as we are all out of ideas. And we're a little frustrated!

Blessings,

John J.

Hmmm..I would possibly recommend getting a 16GB USB Flash Drive or external hard drive, as that is a very large file. If you create a shared home network that should also work.
