Nice setup Cabe, you really should upgrade that 1gb ram to make it complete

My main computer is a Acer Aspire 2000
maxed out ram to 2gb, 80 gb , radeon mobility 9800
extended 20" 16:9 acer on 17" 16:9 laptop screen, hooked up to amp etc.

(will upgrade within 2 weeks to a 3.6ghz desktop , geforce 6800gts, 3gb 3200 ram..)

My home away from home is dell lattitude c400,1gb ram,1.2ghz, EDGE pcmcia card, 120 gb (for max free leeching )

Server = dual p3 (2x1ghz) , 1 gb ram, +- 400 gb, dual wifi N adapter

I will at some point. Problem is since its 800Mhz RAM is alot more expensive. It runs really really well. It cost me about £80 for 2x512Mb compared to an average of £30 per Gb

That seems like a good set up apart from the 6800. That will really hold you back. Powerfull processor, good amount of RAM and a budget graphics card. If I were you I would try get an 8 series card. For example an 8500 or an 8600. Gets you DX10 and they are way more powerfull and not too much more expensive.

i'm actually not happy.
i didn't take into account that AMD never is correct with numbers ..
so my 3600+ turns out to be a 2.6 ghz ..

so,the geforce is pretty nice compared to that.
Besides, coming from my game-free laptop, to a night of STALKER and FEAR, i'm pretty darn happy

Besides, it's only AGP, not pci-e .. maybe i'll invest in the BEST agp card.

any suggestions ?

I've also got a new laptop, its a black MacBook

2.16Ghz Core 2 Duo
1Gb RAM
160Gb HD
13.3" Screen.

Runs Half Life 2 at full settings no problem.
