Underground Home Las Vegas
Located 25-feet underground in the Las Vegas desert, this nuclear bunker boasts all the amenities you’d expect from a real home, complete with a Jacuzzi, kitchen, bedrooms, and more. It was originally built by Girard B. “Jerry” Henderson’s Underground World Home Inc. back in the 1960s and 70s when many citizens feared the imminence of nuclear war.

Other features include: a manually-operated “sky” with morning, dusk, and night settings, heated pool, a four-hole putting course, and even a dance floor. If you’re in the market for one of these structures, you can visit this particular specimen at 3970 Spencer Street in Las Vegas – purchased by a non-profit in 2014 for $1.15-million.

Henderson showcased his unique fallout shelters like this one in a brochure at the 1965 World’s Fair, idealizing their seclusion: ‘Fantastic… An impossible dream… The perfect way of life for future generations? Not at all – It’s here NOW! Create Your own private world… Shut out noise, dangerous intruders, storms, pollen, air pollution.’
