LG announced today that it’s set to mass produce the first-ever 31.5″ OLED gaming monitor with a switchable refresh rate and resolution. This panel enables users to quickly select between a high refresh rate (1080p FHD @ 480Hz) and a high-resolution mode (4K UHD @ 240Hz) depending on the content.
If the high refresh rate mode is selected, users can enjoy games where speed and screen changes can make a big difference, like first-person shooter (FPS) or racing titles. LG’s Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR) lets users choose whether to prioritize refresh rate or resolution by adjusting the image processing speed. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability.
