Finally, starting December 5th, Verizon will begin rolling out its super speedy LTE 4G network in select cities nationwide. One of the first modems that will be released is the LG VL600. Early testers in Brooklyn “saw consistent speeds which peaked at 7 Mbps down, and over 1 Mbps up.” Video preview after the break. Click here for more pictures of the LG VL600 modem.

By comparison, we saw around 4 Mbps down and less than 1 Mbps up when we did some testing with Sprint’s WiMAX Overdrive 4G, and roughly 6.5 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up with Clear’s iSpot.
