Aims at different segments of the market ranging from premium to affordable smartphones

LG Electronics said that it plans to launch of three new smartphones in the next few weeks that would run on Windows software.

The three new phones would the first LG phones to feature Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. They include full touchscreen, a touch slider with QWERTY keyboard and a QWERTY bar-type handset.

LG said that the three phones will be aimed at different segments of the market ranging from premium to affordable smartphones. The phones will be introduced initially for early adopter customers in the Europe, the US and Asia before being made available globally.

The new version of Windows Mobile includes an upgraded Internet Explorer Mobile browser with a new engine and a customised version of Adobe Flash Lite for accessing sites. Windows Mobile 6.5 will also include access to Microsoft’s My Phone service where customers can perform automatic backups of photos, music, contacts and text messages. They are supported by LG's S-Class User Interface which offers a 3D experience that works with Microsoft operating system.

Skott Ahn, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said: “This initial launch is a strong testament that LG is committed to offering a spectrum of choices for our broad range of customers. Our work with Microsoft on mobile devices reflects our strategy of offering the best in both hardware and software in all our smartphones.”

LG said that the new phones will be compatible with LG's app store and expects to offer up to 2000 applications by the end of the year. The company also confirmed that it plans to launch 13 new Windows Mobile phones by the end of 2010.

Hi.
Thanks for sharing this post.
Actually i was thinking of buying a new lg phone having elegant skin, Could you please suggest me some websites providing good lg skins?
