I got it for free from emachines.....To me it just seems like a dazzled up XP.....To me its identical...and In my opinion not worth it....It seems that the only nice features that the average user will get from it you could just download from a third party supplier or something...

i use Vista at work... i havent found any bugs or Trouble... but it makes some programs REALY slow... It doesnt give me any more than Windows XP... the only things that changed are the GFX and the only thing that PISSES ME TO MADNES... are the dialog boxxes whitch you have to Click to aprove to open a APP or Config pannel in Windows... So you have run... MSCONFIG and click TURN OFF USER RIGHT... Reboot and than you Turned off that Crapp... BUT that renders the new safety functions so youll be back at the Windows XP Safety...

o yeh and if you use 3D Studio max9 it will turn the Earo interface off cause if its turned on than Max will not work :S

So just keep using Windows XP no need to upgrade...

or Buy a mac and use Boot camp.

Default Vista... not as bad as people think - 01-13-2008, 07:00 PM

Hi,
In response to the vist "is it worth it" question, I would say, personally, no. I spent alot of money and time, selling my old, run-down desktop to replace it with a shiny new dell laptop, with vista home permium. I am happy, to an extent, with vista, but now wish i had got a mac! The main problem with vista, is compatability, with old XP produts. If more people commited to buying, and sticking with vista, I think programmers would think more about updating their software to vista-level. I still stick by my previous comment though. My mate has OS Leopard, and it is amazing, but even so, if i got a mac in the near future, I would get bootcamp and vista with it!
