The Motorola RAZR2 is the successor to one of the most popular cell phones in the USA, the RAZR. It has been updated to run Linux. The most expensive and feature-packed model of the RAZR2 series, the V9 will have a 2 megapixel camera, a full HTML web browser, Crystaltalk™ technology (to reduce and filter out background noise from conversations), and a 2-inch haptic touchscreen on the front of the closed phone. This will make the virtual buttons have a perceptible "click" when pressed.

The RAZR2 V9m was released in South Korea on June 29, 2007, and is available through Verizon Wireless in September 2007 and Sprint as of August 22, 2007 in the US. The V8 was released in July 2007, while the V9 will be released in September 2007. The availability of the phones will likely vary by location and carrier.

There are three major models of the RAZR2: the V8, V9m and the V9. All look identical with the exception of the V9, which is 1.4mm thicker. The major difference between the three models are their capabilities. The V8 is a basic GSM phone with EDGE capabilities, and will be sold via conventional retail channels. The V9 supports HSDPA 3G and has video calling and features like "See What I See". The V9 is going to be released by AT&T in September of 2007. The V9m is similar to the V9, except that it supports EVDO, and a number of its specs have been downgraded, the most significant being its processor runs at half speed, and it does not include Crystaltalk™. However, features such as an e-book system, major subway maps in South Korea, and an English dictionary are still present.
