LG recently filed a patent that shows the company may be working on a smartphone with 16-lens camera module, so if the five-camera system found on its flagship LG V40 ThinQ isn’t enough, this should do the trick. Apparently, the lenses, arranged in a 4 x 4 matrix layout, are intended to capture multiple perspectives in a single shot, enabling you to move the 3D-like pictures around afterwards. “LG is also looking to place a mirror at the bottom of the 16 lenses, which will allow users to take selfies. This also suggests that the smartphone that will incorporate the new technology will skip the front camera, possibly in favor of an edge-to-edge display without a notch,” reports Digital Trends.
