It will be at least a few more months until the Galaxy Ring is released, but the Samsung Galaxy A55 smartphone was quietly announced this week. This mid-range device now comes with the hardware-based and tamper-resistant security solution, Samsung Knox Vault.
Knox Vault boasts comprehensive protection against both hardware and software attacks by building a secure execution environment that is physically isolated from the system’s main processor as well as memory. It protects the most critical data on a device, including lock screen credentials, such as PIN codes, passwords and patterns. The A55 features a 6.6″ Super AMOLED screen with as 120Hz refresh rate, an Exynos 1480 processor, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage, a triple rear camera system (50MP Main + 12MP Ultra-Wide + 5MP Macro), a 32MP selfie camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. Available now in select markets, priced from around $524 USD.
