No, this isn’t an early April Fools’ Day joke, but Netflix actually running on an unmodified NES. Employees Guy Cirino, Alex Wolfe, and Carenina Motion developed a version of the Netflix app that runs on the original Nintendo Entertainment System for Netflix’s Hack Day. It features the ability to scroll between films / television shows, load synopses / images, and also playback media. To demonstrate its functionality, they played the intro to House of Cards.
